Timeline

???

It is currently unclear when the events in this section take place, as Home does not run on the same calendar as our world. For the sake of clarity, they are listed in the order that they appear.

  1. At the end of an otherwise ordinary day, Barnaby B. Beagle notices that his best friend Wally Darling is unusually unresponsive. Nothing he does seems to catch his attention.
  2. At a Macabre Menagerie of Monstrous Mischief Making party, Sally Starlet tells a story about a monster that roams around Home at night, but does not get to finish it. Afterwards, when he is alone, Wally displays the ability to eat with his eyes for what may be the first time.
  3. In the December 25th transmission received by W, Eddie Dear is invited to a Homewarming party after a stressful day, but upon arriving and getting settled in, has a strange experience that leaves him shaken.
  4. One day, Poppy Partridge finds herself sealed in her own home as a result of the neighbors trying to protect her from a frightening play. Despite her front door being unlocked, she is plagued by an incessant knocking, and eventually finds herself somewhere completely different when the door is opened.

2020s

  • 2020-2021: W begins to archive what they have found of Welcome Home.
  • February 14th, 2022: The Welcome Home Restoration Project’s website launches for the first time. Wally begins his attempts to establish a connection with you.
  • January 14th, 2023: The site updates. More information regarding the world of Welcome Home is uncovered.
  • February 25th, 2023: The site updates. Discussion of a collaboration between the WHRP and museum curator Question Answerer begins. Home is confirmed to be active alongside Wally.
  • Summer, 2023: W hears what they believe to be dialogue from Welcome Home, but fails to properly document it.
  • July 27th, 2023: The site updates. The guestbook is closed. The culmination of the WHRP and Question Answerer’s collaboration is revealed: an in-person exhibition showcasing the WHRP’s findings. Question Answerer privately expresses doubt regarding Welcome Home’s existence.
  • October 13th, 2023: The site updates. Discrepancies between the WHRP's transcripts of recovered audio and the actual contents of the audio become more apparent, particularly in the case of Sally, implying that the other neighbors may be active as well.
  • November 20th, 2023: While cleaning up the Halloween decorations from the previous update, (presumably) the WHRP leaves out a series of instructions for Wally to follow. Any reason they may have for doing so is not revealed.
  • December 25th, 2023: Wally attempts to follow the WHRP's instructions to the best of his ability, but either expresses confusion or takes some liberties while doing so. W receives a 22-minute long transmission on their TV, and is successful in recording it this time.
  • February 1st, 2024: The WHRP website disappears.
  • March 9th, 2024: A new version of the site is established in the previous one's place, with the WHRP promising that this version of the site will be less susceptible to "bugs." The WHRP reveals an array of Christmas/Homewarming-themed merchandise, many of which Eddie is conspicuously absent from. W establishes awayfrompryingeyes.net, and in addition to the aforementioned transmission, reports receiving a phone call from Wally corresponding to the WHRP's discoveries.
  • October 18th, 2024: Both the WHRP website and awayfrompryingeyes.net update. The WHRP introduces the Marlo-brand Looky-Loo Storyteller Collection original "Brick-By-Brick," as a preview of their findings. awayfrompryingeyes.net uploads the same video, albeit with audio that differs greatly near the end, revealing the 4th event described in the ??? section.
